Zion's National Park

For Spring Break we went to St. George and Zion's.  I had never been to the Park before.  It is incredibly beautiful!  My parents came down to be with us too!
My dad and his traitor hat!!

 Wild mating turkeys!
Didn't quite make it through the day!

Easter 2012

Easter Photos!  A little late on the post I know!  I made clothes this year.  Of course I finished Isabelle's dress at 1 in the morning but considering my kids have not coordinated for 4 years, a little extra time was due.  I made the boys ties too.  My first time making a tie.  Mason's only lasted 1 hour on and he wouldn't oblige even for the camera.  The floral material was free from my friend Suzy and the accent was cheap broad cloth with a coupon! Pretty good looking kids for $5!!

I think I will get these pictures printed out and on my wall.  I have some landscape orientation frames that need some cute kids in them.  Besides, it is probably time to take Gene Kelly off my wall! (I put my Gene Kelly head shot up as a joke, Mike laughed but I am not sure how funny he really thought it was).  Head shots of my children are probably a little more appropriate!!

Leg Warmers and Bun Cover for my Little Ballerina!

So after making so many gloves I thought that maybe I could just extend them into leg warmers for Isabelle for her ballet class. I ended up using a patten I found online and then added the flowers for some fancy flare!! I am really happy with how they turned out. I can sell them at the studio if I ever get a poster ready to advertise!!

Look at the beautiful point!

I like how the bun cover turned out too. It almost looks like a little pastry or something. Isabelle loves wearing them which is the most important thing!

Some Things I Make

So I made these gloves for Christmas presents and now I am going to sell them!! I have one up on Etsy. And that is as far as I have gotten so far. I have made a couple others but not gotten pictures yet. I have received compliment from strangers on mine and asked where I got them! I was very flattered but, alas, I had no business cards or anything to let them know where they can purchase them! That is one of the next things on the list!! I have more things to come in future posts of available merchandise. I am a little slow on the uptake but I do have a few orders and a little play money that I can earn while sitting through a 2 hour baseball practice isn't too bad. Luckily it fun for me to do and I don't have to leave home to do it (unlike my true passion that requires a stage, and costumes, and...)!

A couple close up shots of the gloves. Mike nicely pointed out that my pictures need a little work. Yeah, I was all alone and wrapping them up so I had to take the pictures immediately and by myself. He has the artistic eye that I will rely on in the future!

Some of the pattern I found online, but the cuff I made up all by myself! That is definitely a first! I am very much a pattern girl and I am not ashamed to admit it!!

Flannel Pantaloon Pajamas

So, my sweet very girlie daughter does not wear pants! Last year I made all the kids pajama pants an she didn't wear hers. She didn't look like a girl. So, thanks to Mikes brilliant brain, I made her pantaloons to go under all her nightgowns, and I made them out of white flannel! Now she can be a girl and be warm at the same time. Mike thinks that I should make and sell these on Etsy or something along with other things I occasionally make. I have looked and there are lots of cute pajamas and cute pantaloons but no pantaloons that are pajamas. Now here is my question, would people actually buy them? What to you think?

Okay, so I did try to post Halloween a couple weeks ago but could not get it to work in the computer. Of course I wait until after Thanksgiving to try again though! I told the kids I would make them either a Halloween pillowcase they could enjoy all month long or a new costume they wear one day. I was convincing enough to save time, money and anxiety (all the Halloween stores and tough decisions). They chose...wisely!

The kids getting ready for the candy fest! You will notice that Isabelle has a different costume then the one she chose for school.

Batman! Muscles and all!

One of the THREE princesses that Isabelle was this year. I told the kids they had to pick from what they had and she went for it all the way!

Yay Buzz! I loved this costume on Collin and I love it on Mason. Mason was just the right age so that when he ran, his 2 year old run looked just like how Buzz runs!
